Recently, our packaging machine workshop has launched a "brainstorming" event - the "Golden Idea" cost reduction and efficiency improvement proposal selection event has officially started! As a member of the factory, my colleagues and I are eager to find inspiration from the details of daily operations and contribute our wisdom to optimize the efficiency of the packaging machine production line, reduce energy consumption and costs.
Original intention of the activity: Let "small improvements" leverage "big benefits"
"Don't look at our packaging machine workshop busy every day, but there is a lot of room for improvement!" The workshop director mentioned at the mobilization meeting. For example, energy waste when equipment is idling, unreasonable parts replacement cycle, and high packaging material loss can all be solved through employees' practical experience and innovative ideas. The purpose of this "Golden Idea" proposal selection is to encourage everyone to put good ideas on paper and use practical solutions to promote cost reduction and efficiency improvement in the workshop.
Proposal Highlights: "Good Tricks" Frequently Come Out in the Packaging Machine Workshop
Two weeks after the event was launched, our workshop received more than 30 proposals. Some colleagues proposed optimization suggestions for the maintenance process of the packaging machine gearbox. By adjusting the lubrication frequency and cleaning steps, it is expected that the service life of the equipment can be extended; others designed a scrap recycling device to centrally process packaging film waste, directly reducing material waste. What is even more surprising is that several young technicians combined their daily inspection experience and summed up a set of "equipment abnormality prediction formulas" to help operators quickly identify potential faults in the operation of the packaging machine.
"These proposals look 'small', but they are very practical!" The head of the technical department commented. At present, 6 proposals have entered the pilot stage, including a plan to adjust the speed of the packaging machine conveyor belt to match the energy consumption. Preliminary tests show that the daily electricity consumption has been reduced by 8%.
Full participation: from "passive execution" to "active innovation"
What impressed me most about this activity was the change in the atmosphere of the workshop. In the past, everyone always thought that optimizing equipment and controlling costs were "the leaders' business". Now even the old masters take the initiative to discuss with new employees: "Look at the feed port of this packaging machine, can you add a dust cover? It can not only reduce the jam of foreign objects, but also reduce the number of shutdowns for cleaning!"
In order to inspire more creativity, our workshop has also set up a "Golden Idea Display Wall" to post excellent proposals and results. Every time I pass by, I can see three or five colleagues gathered together to discuss: "Our group can also try this method!"
Next step: Turn good ideas into "real kung fu"
Although the selection activity is coming to an end, the action of reducing costs and increasing efficiency has just begun. The factory plans to incorporate proposals with high feasibility into the standard operation manual and promote them throughout the workshop. For example, special training has been arranged for the maintenance optimization plan of the packaging machine gearbox to ensure that every operator can master the new process.
"What you save is what you earn!" The factory director said at the summary meeting, "This activity not only reduced costs, but also made our packaging machine workshop work together and made 'lean production' a habit for everyone."
